SUMMIT Information for DELEGATES
The Speaker Summit creeps ever closer! I don't know about you, but I'm incredibly excited about it and can't wait to spend two days in Bavarian Alps unpacking the secrets of public speaking and breaking bread with like-minded souls such as yourself.
I know that you'll have questions, concerns and ideas – how do I get to the location, will there be food, should I bring anything with me, what hotel should I book or what should I pack in my suitcase? – all questions that I would have asked if I were attending myself.
I've tried to answer as many of these questions for you here. You may, of course, have questions of your own. Let me know if you do and I'll do my very best to answer them.
I will be setting up WhatsApp groups closer to the date to cover things like carsharing, evening meals and emergencies. Please send me your mobile number if you would like to be included in them.
See you all very soon!
Much love,
Marcus.
Travel by air.
If at all possible please fly to Salzburg as it is ideally located. Munich airport is also possible, but will involve a 90-minute car trip.
Travel by train.
Please don't travel by train. Just don't. A train from Munich will take you 2 hours, with the last leg being a bus. If you need to travel by train, please consider travelling to Munich, and we'll organise a car. If you're travelling from Berlin consider flying to Salzburg airport instead (which will take an hour and five minutes with Eurowings).
Travel by car.
We need to keep the amount of cars at the Summit to an absolute minimum. Please park your car in Ruhpolding. There's plenty of parking there. We'll be collecting all guests, delegates and speakers from the Summit Base Camp (see locations) with a shuttle and taking up to Wandl.
Sharing is caring – so please let me know if there is space in your car for one or two other people.

Locations & Important Phone Numbers
There are two locations that you need to be aware of.
- Summit - Wandl Klausmeisterhof. This is where the main conference will take place.
- Base Camp - Wandl Cafe. This is where each day begins. If in doubt, aim for the Base Camp, call the hotline, and Summit Rescue will pick you up.
Summit Rescue - Numbers you might need
- All things Speakery - call Marcus on +49 151 623 713 87
- All things location - call Wandl on +49 173 455 8344
There will be glorious foods for you to eat during the Summit, with a range of vegatarian, vegan and gluten frei dishes.
I can't eat wheat, and my trousers explode if I eat or drink dairy.
Please let us know what you can't eat, might make you swell or what might kill you. Whether it's peanuts or bee stings – let us know if you have any medical conditions or serious allergies that we should know about.
I don't care what anybody else says—the weather is going to be awesome.
The sunshine is beautiful but also brutal in the Alps. That means you should pack your factor 50 sunscreen, a nice hat, and light, comfy clothes – comfortable shoes are always a good idea too! You have that lovely linen suit. Pack it. Should you were Tracht? Well, that's up to you – wear whatever makes you feel comfortable.
That said, it will quickly cool down in the evenings, so a nice jumper or woollen Janker might come in handy, too. OK, and maybe pack mac, just in case.
- Pen: You'll be taking lots of notes, so bring a nice pen
- Camera: The scenery is spectacular, so consider bringing a good camera if you have one
- Questions: The aim of the Summit is to answer as many of your public speaking-related questions as possible
- Openness: Bring an open heart, mind and spirit with you.
