The Speakery SPARK

Der Speakery SPARK

Everybody has a spark.
Speakery finds yours.

Alle Menschen haben einen Spark.
Speakery findet deinen.

I founded Speakery because nobody should lose sight of who they are just because they're presenting. I work with people who want attention, or want to know what to do with it when they get it.

Speakery is my speaker-coaching practice in Munich. Over the last decade I've built the method behind it, the one that puts speakers on the biggest stages in Europe. I call it the Speakery SPARK.

Why it matters

Warum das zählt

You've come off stage knowing it didn't land.

The slides were good. You said the words in the right order. And then: polite applause.

No follow-up meetings. No interview requests. Nobody posting about it. Just a room of people putting their coats on.

Keine Folgetermine. Keine Interviewanfragen.

That isn't a slide problem. It's a connection problem.

Das ist kein Slide-Problem. Das ist ein Verbindungsproblem.

It's happened to me. I've watched it happen to hundreds of speakers, and I've helped hundreds more fix it.

Presentations fail on connection, not on slides. An audience decides whether you matter to them long before they judge your deck, and no amount of rehearsal fixes that.

When your Speakery SPARK is working, the audience sees you in their own life. You become significant to them. Your purpose resonates. Your attitude lifts them. Your honesty reads as a risk they recognise. Your knowledge earns their trust.

Dein Purpose kommt an. Dein Wissen schafft Vertrauen.

The five elements of the Speakery SPARK

Die fünf Elemente des Speakery SPARK

Five things decide whether an audience connects with you.

I've watched and worked with thousands of people. The same five came up every time. Each one is scored twice, using a thirty-five statement assessment: once for the subject, once for the stage. Take it now, it's free.

Jetzt ausprobieren, kostenlos.

Significance S

Significance is your relationship to your subject, and how much that subject matters to you. It has nothing to do with your age. It has everything to do with your focus.

Score high and you have skin in the game. The subject matters enormously to you, and your experience means you matter to it. Work on it and you end up in significant rooms, on significant stages.

Don't confuse ambition with Significance. Your purpose decides which stage you belong on.

Verwechsle Ehrgeiz nicht mit Significance. Dein Purpose entscheidet, auf welche Bühne du gehörst.

Purpose P

Purpose is the motor. It's why you get out of bed and why you do the work you do. It takes work to find, and it shows itself slowly.

Purpose ist der Motor.

Knowing it, and being able to say it out loud, is the glue holding the other four together. You need it to build significance, to work out which risks are worth taking, to steer your attitude, and to decide what you still need to learn.

Attitude A

Attitude is the heartbeat. Purpose is your why. Attitude is your how. It's your character in the room.

Attitude ist der Herzschlag. Purpose ist dein Warum. Attitude ist dein Wie. Sie ist dein Charakter im Raum.

A strong Attitude is optimistic. It goes looking for the difficult question instead of dodging it, and it's pointed at solving something urgent for the audience, the team, the organisation. If you don't have the answer, you find the person who does. And you use your visibility to help other people get some.

Risk R

Every presentation is a risk. So is every keynote, interview, panel and podcast.

The biggest risk anyone can take is to show the world who you really are. It's also the best feeling there is when you do it.

This isn't performance. It's knowing exactly what's at stake and saying the thing anyway, whatever feathers get ruffled. Risk is your truth, and it's the one thing every speaker has to train.

Knowledge K

Knowledge is the foundation. Nothing stands without it. How good your knowledge is decides how significant you are.

Earned knowledge counts: things you've built, tested, got wrong and done again. Significance puts people on significant stages. Missing knowledge is what keeps everyone else off them.

Again, this isn't about age or job title. It's about depth, and depth shows itself every time you stand up.

Find out how strong yours is. Thirty-five statements, about eight minutes. No sign-up, nothing stored. Two scores for each of the five elements, and the one I'd start with.

Does it work?

Funktioniert das?

Yes. On some of the biggest stages in Europe.

Ja. Auf einigen der größten Bühnen Europas.

It's the model I used with the Miss Germany finalists, who pitched to a nation, live, on German television.

It works because it doesn't ask you to learn something theatrical that only a handful of people ever master. It asks you to work on five practical things you already have.

Questions people ask Speakery

Fragen, die uns gestellt werden

Before you book.

Bevor du buchst.

Is this coaching or therapy?

Coaching. I help you give the best performance you can by working on the things an audience actually cares about. I ask a lot of questions and I'll challenge why your presentation should matter to anyone.

How much of myself do I have to reveal?

You decide. I'm a coach, not a therapist. I will ask why you present the way you do, and why you're not doing the thing you say you want to do. It's demanding work. It's also fun.

Is this your personal theory, or is it based on something?

Thirty-three years of presenting. Years spent in jobs where my own spark was so misaligned it made me deeply unhappy. Over a decade helping hundreds of speakers and corporate spokespeople.

Is it in English or German? Online or in Munich?

Both languages, either way. Sessions run online, or at the Speakery Studio in Taufkirchen just outside Munich, which has a stage and a conference room so we can rehearse the room you're actually walking into.

Can I try something small first?

Yes. We usually start with one part of your spark and build from there. The consultation is free and takes twenty minutes.

There's a score. Is there an actual test? Can I do it now?

There is, and yes. Thirty-five statements, about eight minutes. It's free, there's no sign-up, and nothing you answer is stored anywhere. It scores each of the five twice, once for the subject and once for the stage, and tells you which to work on first. Take the assessment.

I'm 31. I don't have “a wealth of experience”. Does that mean I score low?

Not necessarily. I know a 66-year-old who'd struggle with it and a 35-year-old who'd score exceptionally. It isn't a competition. It tells you where you are, so you can work out how to get where you're going.

Who decides what a significant room is? What if mine is small?

You do. The work you've done, and why you did it, is why you get invited anywhere. That's true of conferences, podcasts, pitches and the Tuesday meeting. No room is too small if the people in it are aligned with your purpose.

I don't know my purpose. Is that a problem, or is that the work?

It's the work. And it's the fun part. It took me 52 years to understand mine and three more to sharpen it, and I'll be working on it for the rest of my life.

Isn't “purpose” what every brand strategist has been selling me for five years?

Two things interest me there. You've been resisting it for five years, which is worth asking yourself about. And it was being sold to you. Simon Sinek's line in Start With Why is that people don't buy what you do, they buy why you do it. Maybe you just didn't buy theirs.

So slides don't matter? I've spent a year getting good at slides.

Congratulations, you've spent a year building real knowledge. You're done. Now we can work on what goes on them.

I'm not naturally sunny. Does that disqualify me?

No. Attitude usually shifts on its own once Purpose and Knowledge are in better shape.

What's actually at risk? My job? My clients? Getting piled on?

Only you can answer that. If your truth feels like too big a risk to take where you are, that's worth understanding before you take the stage, and it's exactly the work we'd do together.

How do I do this on LinkedIn without wrecking the brand I've spent two years building?

Look at what you've built and ask what needs to happen next. Speakery helps people take that step. The Speakery SPARK is how they take it.

Where's the line between honest and oversharing?

Stoicism helped me here: justice, courage, temperance, wisdom. Useful tools for knowing when to stop. Not everyone starts out in a job where honesty is wise. Working on purpose is how you end up somewhere that wants what you have to say.

How do I know if my knowledge is earned? Most of what I know came from other people's content.

Study counts, and study is important. But trust arrives when people can see you've actually implemented something. If that's the gap, we find you ways to build and ship over time.

Do you fix the nerves or not?

I do. People who work on Purpose, Attitude and Knowledge notice the nerves fade. I've also got a few Speakery tricks for the day itself.

Ist das Coaching oder Therapie?

Coaching.

Beide Sprachen, beide Wege.

Du.

Slides sind also egal?

Mein Job? Meine Kund:innen?

Schau dir an, was du gebaut hast, und frag dich, was als Nächstes passieren muss.
